SSPS Nov 2019- final programme

Dear All,

Thank you all for attending the recent SSPS meeting in Dundee. There were 37 attendees including 12 consultants and associate specialists which was a great turn out.

Well done and thank you to all of you who presented your work and gave us such a varied programme. It was a full day and we covered a wide range of topics.

A few follow up points.

1. Jenny Vaughan was our invited guest speaker. What a lady. I felt inspired, humbled and grateful to hear about her work and that of DAUK to ensure a just culture for all of us and our patients. Jenny would not accept travel expenses to attend the meeting so I have donated #200 on behalf of SSPS to Doctors Association UK. If you took a lanyard home with you then please make a small donation to DAUK. I have joined, it’s £25 per year and you will be able to claim it back with professional expenses if you do your own tax return.

2. Congratulation to Robert Greenhalgh for his presentation about Head Injury Advice which was awarded the best trainee presentation award.

3. The raffle raised #50 for the Archie Foundation. Mr Haddock was the lucky winner and he donated the Oor Wullie back to me. My children are delighted. Thank you Graham!

4. I have enclosed Calum’s talk about your payslip. Thank you Calum for coming to speak to us and shed some light on the mystery of the payslip. If you have questions about this then contact Calum directly, calum.anderson@bma.org.uk.

5. Attached is the programme and a certificate of attendance for your portfolios. Put your own name into the certificate.

6.Mr Driver is the new secretary. Ensure your subscriptions to SSPS are in order or he will be chasing you.

7. The Glasgow team will be organising the Spring 2020 meeting- dates will be circulated ASAP.

I think that’s everything.
Many thanks again for attending and supporting this meeting.

Best wishes,

Lisa
